is a social scientist specializing in complexity. She is the author of a book and several research articles on complex systems. She also contributes articles to media outlets on international relations, foreign affairs, and uncertainty.
Applying Social Science to our World
Andrea is a research consultant for Fortune 500 firms, helping them apply social scientific methods and principles into discovering, researching, and developing policies for institutional and cultural change on diversity. She often partners with Scott E. Page, diversity mastermind of our time.
Democratizing Higher Education
Andrea is developing two online course on Complexity and Algebra with Lemma, a mathematics education startup. She also shares academic discoveries in data science on her podcast and writes an educational blog about Political Science. She also designed and taught NYU’s first global course – also on Complexity – which was taught across four continents simultaneously.
Understanding the Role of Censorship in Society
Andrea's other primary area of expertise in social science is on international conflict and censorship, especially in authoritarian countries. Her life goal is to understand how the flow of information affects group adaptability. She wrote a dissertation on this topic and has a forthcoming paper on it. Both took awhile.
Performance and Multimedia
In addition to being a sought-after researcher and celebrated teacher, Andrea is a standup comedian and circus artist, both of which she has performed for audiences (including royalty) all over the world. She also entertains audiences online with her personal blog, short comical YouTube videos, and way too many, mostly disappointing, hand-drawn cartoons.
